The Norki Marani company produces boutique dry and semi-dry wines, the main grape varieties are black Areni from the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia, white Kangun and black Karmrayut from the Armavir region, white Voskehat from the Aragatsotn region, as well as white Khachabash with Nork vineyards in Yerevan. In 2020, the Norky Kehar trademark was registered, under which wines are produced. The choice of white varieties “Voskehat” and “Ararathi” is due to tradition, as the wine from these grape varieties has been produced at the winery for almost 150 years and is of historical importance for the Derdzakyan family.
“Voskehat” is one of the ancient varieties of white grapes and is translated as “golden berry”. White wine from grapes of this variety has been produced at the winery since its foundation and has been the main component of the financial well-being of the Derdzakyan family. Their vineyards were located in Yerevan, district. Mink and allowed to get up to 30 tons of grapes per year. The production of white Voskehat was carried out constantly, although in Soviet times the vineyard was alienated in favor of the state, and the amount of wine was no more than 1000 litas. The line includes aged wine “Norqi Keghar Voskehat” with a harmonious combination of shades of flowers and fruits.
The choice of the Ararati variety, also known as Khachabash, had a dual meaning for the Derdzakyan family since Soviet times – table, for sale and for winemaking. Homestead vineyard, located in Yerevan, district. Nork, Loose is more than 90 years old. Although the variety belongs to the table, and not to the technical, nevertheless, it allows you to get soft and calm dry wines with hints of pear and plum. The line includes aged wine “Norqi Keghar Ararati”. Produced in limited quantities – only up to 100 bottles. year and is the exclusive wine of the winery.
The line of white wines is complemented by “Norqi Keghar Kangoun” from the Kangun grape variety of the same name. The production of homemade wine from this grape variety, as well as from black grapes of the Karmrayut variety, was handled by another branch of the Derdzakyan family. The experience was adopted, and since 2020, wines from these varieties have already been produced at the Norki Marani winery. Wines from the Kangun variety are distinguished by a fresh aroma intertwined with notes of field herbs and fruits.
Since 2020, the Norki Marani company has begun producing red wines, as already noted, from black Karmrayut grapes and the main star of Armenian winemaking – black Areni. In terms of taste, Norqi Keghar Areni wines are light, alcohol is almost not felt, they have a slight tannin, but are not without elegance, and aging in oak barrels gives the wine a velvety touch with a slight vanilla flavor. The range includes Norqi Keghar Areni aged in oak barrels, Norqi Keghar Areni Carasi Method aged in clay amphora-kars, and Norqi Keghar Areni Rose rosé.
In contrast to Areni, Karmrayut wines are distinguished by bright tannins with hints of fruit, have a rich and intense color, refinement, and aging in oak barrels gives pleasant phenolic shades. The line includes aged Norqi Keghar Karmrahyut.
